About us
HVAC Service Built Around How Los Angeles Homes Are Used
Los Angeles has dry summers and mild winters, but conditions vary widely across the area. Inland neighborhoods and valleys get much hotter in summer than homes near the coast, and fall Santa Ana winds can bring hot, dry spells. That puts most of the yearly strain on air conditioning, while furnaces and heat pumps may sit idle for months before a cold night. AirCore HVAC Repair Service diagnoses and repairs both sides of that equation. When a system breaks down, we track down the cause, explain it in plain terms, and lay out your options. If replacement makes more sense than another repair, we'll walk you through the choices, including heat pumps and ductless mini-splits, and tell you what local rules and utility rebates may apply to your home. We also offer maintenance visits so your system is checked before the heat arrives, not after it fails.

FAQ
Common questions
Should I repair my AC or replace it?
It depends on what failed, how old the system is, and how well it has been cooling your home. We'll explain the problem, tell you whether a repair is reasonable, and describe your replacement options if they make sense, so you can compare before deciding.
Are there rules about replacing a gas furnace in Los Angeles?
Yes. South Coast AQMD Rule 1111 limits NOx emissions from natural-gas fan-type central furnaces sold and installed in the region, and the district has been amending it toward zero-emission requirements. Because the district sets and revises compliance dates, anyone planning a furnace replacement should check the current rule. We can help you understand how it may affect your choices.
Can I get a rebate for installing a heat pump?
Possibly. LADWP residential electric customers can apply for Consumer Rebate Program rebates on qualifying heat pump systems, with the amount based on the unit's SEER2/HSPF2 rating. The application is filed after the equipment is purchased and installed, within 12 months of purchase. Many homes outside the City of Los Angeles are served by Southern California Edison instead, so available rebates depend on your utility. We confirm the current offer before quoting it.
Is there still a federal tax credit for heat pumps?
The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) covered qualifying heat pumps placed in service before December 31, 2025. It isn't available for new installations after that date.
What is a ductless mini-split, and is it right for my home?
A ductless mini-split is a heat pump that heats and cools individual rooms through wall-mounted indoor units, without ductwork. It can work well for additions, converted garages, older homes without ducts, or rooms that never stay comfortable. We'll look at your layout and tell you whether it's a good fit.
How often should my HVAC system be serviced?
A yearly maintenance visit is a common approach. In Los Angeles, scheduling it before summer is especially useful, since that's when air conditioners work hardest. If you use a heat pump year-round, ask us about checking it before both seasons.
Do I need duct cleaning?
Not every home does. It may be worth considering if you see dust blowing from vents, have had recent remodeling, or notice debris or pests in the ducts. We'll tell you what we see rather than recommending it by default.
